The winter season is here again! No matter how much we would like to stay indoors and cuddle, neither the horses nor the stable chores can wait. Time to go to the stables and defy the weather! Here are some tips on how to keep warm in the stable on really chilly winter days.

What to wear when riding in winter?

The secret to keeping warm on horseback and in the stable is definitely a smart layering system. By wearing different layers with specific functions, you can fix even the toughest weather conditions. A general tip: Do not store riding clothes such as equestrian horse riding gloves, jacket and boots in the stable (unless there is a heated saddle chamber). There is nothing worse than having to put on riding clothes that are still cold and damp from the day before. Take your riding horse clothes home with you and let them dry thoroughly – then they will be warm and comfortable when it's time to put them on.

Which breeches are good for winter?

While it's super smart with layering on the upper body, it's a little trickier when it comes to the bottom. Of course, you can wear a second layer under your regular breeches to keep warm. However, it can be perceived as a bit lumpy and uncomfortable with an extra layer under an already tight pair of breeches. Do you recognize yourself?
